Do each bit in the brackets first (remembering that the line is the same as a divide sign and applying BIDMAS) so
(20 ÷ 4) ÷ (5 - 4 x 2) = 5 ÷ (5 - 8) = 5 ÷ -3 =

Apply BIDMAS and understand that '/' means to divide .
Remember BIDMAS tells us in which order to do our calculation:
Brackets first, then Indices, then Division, then Multiplication, then Addition, then Subtraction.
(20/4)/(5-4x2) means (20 ÷ 4) ÷ (5 - 4 x 2)
Deal with the brackets first:
(20 ÷ 4) becomes 5
(5 - 4 x 2) becomes (5-8) which becomes -3
therefore (20 ÷ 4) ÷ (5 - 4 x 2) becomes 5 ÷ - 3 which =

Using BIDMAS, B (brackets) comes first so we need to expand the brackets:
20/4 = 5
M (multiplication) comes before S (subtraction) so we need to multiply 4 by 2 before taking it away from 5:
4 x 2 = 8
5 - 8 = -3
Now we divide:
5 / -3 = - 5/3 or -1(2/3)
