The era that marked the switch from agricultural practices to industrial practices is commonly known as the industrial revolution. ot took place over a period of time covering the second half og the 18th century. It began in England and was triggered by increased use of machinery and the automation of production as a result of a number of key inventions and discoveries. Not least by the ability ot transport goods over longer distances and to rise in manufacturing and larger scale mining and access to raw materials.

This allowed more people to travel across the country. So while we see a lot of literature, for example Charles Dickens, that explored and highlighted tough working conditions and poverty, we also see a rise in travel writing

The Industrial Revolution! This was time from the 17th century to the 19th century where large machinery became more popular than agriculture practices. It marked a major shift in advancing technology, but it also had some negative impacts!
