Divide 1 by 4, and you get 0.25. Now, you multiply 5 by 0.25, and you get 1.25.

So 5*1/4 you will need to times 5 by the top of the fraction so 1*5 =5 so the new fraction work be 5/4 then if you divide 5 by 4 you would get 1 with a reminder of 1 which would go back on the fraction so the answer would be 1 1/4

5 multiplied by a 1/4 can be worked out by dividing 5 by 2 twice. In simpler terms, halving the number once and halving the answer once more

You can arrange 5 as a fraction, which would be 5/1 as any number divided by 1 would be the original number. Next, you multiple 5/1 by 1/4 - this would give you 5/4.

5/1 x 1/4
Then you would times the top of the two fractions together, the numerators, 5 times 1 = 5, then times the bottom two numbers together, the denominators. This would be 1 times 4 which equals 4. This means that the final fraction would be 5/4.
(5 X 1) ÷ 4 = 5/4 or 1.25
5 times 1/4 is the same as 5 divided by 4, which is:
5* 1/4
or as a missed fraction it is:
